Convex Auth

Hello, I've just initiated a convex project, I'm trying to setup email and password authentication, how does the password field works?? Please I'm not interested in clerk. Thanks...

Syncing data with Clerk

Which way is a better approach: Fetching from Convex(Clerk data is synced with Convex). Or fetching from Clerk with useUser(); hook for all user data like phone number(user.primaryPhoneNumber?.phoneNumber), isSignedIn, isLoaded, and user object

How does the dashboard check it's own version

how do you guys do this in the dashboard? do you use a serviceworker? I'm thinking about implementing this for my app so when i deploy schema changes in the DB the clients (Next.js) will be in sync
No description

I asked around the various LLM bots and Google searched.

Convex-adjacent question: Anyone have a guess as to how v0.dev works? I'm interested in a getting an AI response (of React/Tailwind code) and directly rendering it as a UI.

Tests Developer Experience

Are there any tools you guys are using to make the tests developer experience better? I feel like i need to build a full display ui to understand everything going on. I'm still baffled how long it takes to do anything meaningful, and how easy it is to get caught up on something.

Mutating other DB

One more. If i create a http file in a person’s convex project with mutations, i can send request to that http file then to mutate convex for other person’s convex db right. If there’s a better way todo it

Dev environment

Hello! We have signed up for Convex Professional but only 1 of us has a dev environment. We see that on 7/22 $75 will be charged so that all the members (3) can get a Dev environment each for themselves. Is there a way to enable that today and charge us sooner?

Running same query multiple times in a mutation

Is there any downside to running the same query more than once in a mutation?

Tracking file storage

hey guys, is there a way in convex, that helps me retrieve remaining File storage? i have to implement a feature similar to this - 10 mb of 1 gb used or something like that...

I'm considering using it instead of Google

Business operations question: Anyone have experience using Lark Suite? It's a competitor to Google Workspace and is built by ByteDance.

Breakages in convex-helpers and convex-ents in 1.13.0

Do we know what (if any) breakages there is within convex-helpers or convex-ents when running the new version 1.13.0?

I'm considering applying.

Convex-adjacent question: Anyone have experience/advice building an MVP with Backdrop Build? https://backdropbuild.com/

Is Convex focused on React, or is it frontend agnostic?

Is convex auth focused on react ? Or frontend agnostic

Using Doppler with Convex

Hello Convex Team, does Convex work with doppler? (https://www.doppler.com/) or are there plans for future integration?

Anyone have any experience/advice

Anyone have any experience/advice building agentic workflows? Short-term question is: use a framework or build the workflow myself?

File bandwidth

https://www.convex.dev/pricing Hi, will the following count towards the "File bandwidth"? a visit (or a GET from the application) to the page where a document is served (https://subdomain.convex.cloud/api/storage/fileid)...

I have a file full of helper functions

I have a file full of helper functions for every table. Mostly crud stuff, listing, pagination, etc. Boring "db layer" stuff. For every get-by-id, which occurs many times throughout each file, I use a shared utility function that throws if the id is not found. Then I started having to deal with what happens when something - literally anything - gets deleted. (Things crash.) I've been avoiding this for months, but I'm now convinced this was absolutely the wrong approach. I've now changed that function to just return undefined, and am updating my entire application to handle it. Throwing this out there in case anyone else is thinking through this sort of thing, and of course, in case anyone has helpful thoughts on the matter....

Abnormal usage

We got a huge amount of read bandwidth today on our dev environment, 240mb nothing abnormal on any other graph to indicate high usage or lots of queries. Ran empty imports a few more times etc, We are usually at like 20-30.. tempted to say its a bug?

SQL Layer

It would also feel great to read a guide titled "convex for sql nerds !" - to build confidence in doing the transition.

Why use Helicone?

@stefano Helicone is what you need , Google them great startup and founders
