No keyboard on any input fields iOS browsers
Hey all, After spending hours (perhaps even days) digging online for a solution, I ran out of options which is why I joined this channel to see if anyone here can point me in the right direction. The issue is that my app is running fine on desktop but when switching over to mobile, none of the input fields are triggering the (iOS) keyboard on the first tap on the input field. This results in not being able to use any of the input fields in my app on the normal/natural way. All fields do get selected (and highlighted) but since the keyboard is not triggered, a user can't type anything. Please find the workarounds below, none of them are desirable. - Issue occurs on Chrome iOS, Safari IOS a Brave iOS - Issue can be solved by:
selecting an input field, locking and unlocking the screen when user does not enter any credentials and selects sign in, it then forces the user to enter the field email address and then the keyboard is triggered when user taps once to highlight the input field, but then tap again on the (highlighted) border of the input field to trigger the keyboard when credentials are stored in Google Pass Manager, then selecting the email adress in the login screen triggers the question to use the stored credentials and also allows me to switch to the keyboard
- Cleared cache, tested in multiple browsers, another iOS device Desired situation is that when tapping any input field, the keyboard is triggered naturally (without any of the workarounds mentioned above) on the first tap of the input field. App url to reproduce on mobile: https://confident-whale-102.convex.app/ > login screen, tap the field to enter an email address, no keyboard is triggered, tap again on the (highlighted) border to trigger the keyboard. Is there anyone who can point me in the right direction (or provide the right prompt) to solve this? Many thanks for your time (even if only reading this post) 🙂 Kind regards, Mark
