Limit to codefiles in /convex-folder?

Everything crashes after we hit 1945 codefiles in the convex folder in our repo. We go back to less than that and everything is OK again. Back to more than 1945 codefiles and it breaks again. Is that a convex-enforced limit that isn't documented?
