Barekey — a better way to env files and configs
Hi people, I want to showcase and gain some honest feedback on an upcoming tool I've been working on for a while now.
Barekey allows you to completely replace all your .env files with its unified SDK. But Barekey can do much more then just environment variables; like A/B testing and rollouts.
Below is a few screenshots of the SDK in action. The SDK works by generating types for you that matches what you have configured remotely. It can be as simple as resolving to a plain string, or generating advanced object types for JSON. The types also embed how the variable is configured allowing agents to easily understand context without guessing. We also have a CLI which agents can use to automate a big part of your workflow and work autonomously.

You can scaffold a SPA React app quite easily by following screenshot 4. It uses the public client that is designed to in untrusted environments, like the browser. To use it on the server and get access to private variables, follow the screenshot 5.

We used Convex for our entire backend as we wanted to build fast and hopefully not break things. It has been a very enjoyable time so far building with Convex.
