Lovable.dev integration
hi guys, just to check, are you planning on integration with lovable.dev by the chance? I so dont want to use Supabase and would looove to use Convex instead, but given how complex API integrations via AI chats can be, looks like it leaves us with no options but just to choose what they have built-in (which is just Supabase, so far). any plans? thanks!

- Provide context: What are you trying to achieve, what is the end-user interaction, what are you seeing? (full error message, command output, etc.)

I have… isn’t pulling same quality app designs and app building experience as lovable, unfortunately… and I did give it a chance!

Fair! I did just try it and was able to get Lovable using Convex pretty simply. I prompted it to use Convex instead of Supabase, which it did, and then I set up GitHub syncing to pull the project down and generate types. I didn't spend time iterating through much (I have a free plan with them and hit my 5 message limit), but it worked well and the project ran.
give tempo.new a shot, im really liking it so far and ive tried em all. i keep going back to it
oh wow… I tried connecting convex and lovable app using simple account registration form (so nothing complex) through prompts and it kept failing… i’ll have to try again! thanks. still, direct built in integration would be great. it’s a growing community there, could benefit both parties
TempoLabs? I worked with that tool for couple months. issues and issues and issues very different experience with loveable so far
do you by the chance have records of prompts you used to achieve that outcome?
ive been having issues too but i think in the end having prd, features, and design all in one is going to make it worth it. and theyre the only one ivee seen that has a direct connection with convex.

I know you use Supabase, but I'd like to use Convex. You don't have to connect to my account to write the backend in Convex, you can just follow their docs for how to do it, and I can provide you with environment variables to access my deployment. Please set up a Convex backend for this app.(set everything up correctly) my next three prompts were trying to get it to run commands and it patiently explaining to me that it can't lol
Tempo was good starting and learning experience for me. but what it took me days and many prompts to build in Tempo, I drop it all in one big prompt and lovable just nails it the first time. with better designs, and if you study code, better code as well. Tempo started well and I really liked them, but things just started going off the track with them, from my understanding, they overcomplicated things (I could be wrong so just my experience)
oh i totally agree. its very disconnected. i spent a few months using v0 and honestly its not any better. now that lovable has real github integration i might try it again.
thank you so much! I wonder how you validated that it set up correctly , did to do list actions performed in lovable app sync in convex database? I wasn’t able to get any data synced, nor tables automatically created… just a bunch of error logs
I think I was facing same issue!
after struggling with Tempo, getting stuck etc, went on testing same big prompt across all those tools, Tempo, Chef and Lovable were three I stopped at. after more tries using same follow up prompts between all three it became clear to me Lovable is a winner… at least at this stage. hope I won’t be hit with similar to Tempo surprises down the road! huge learning experience, for sure. now I just really want to
make it work with Convex…
thats the issue im having too, and it doesnt help that im going back to my prd constantly changing things because of one limitation or another. if the prd is the single source of truth, and all of these apps used that to build on instead of endless ai chat convos that get convoluted between them all i think this might actually work.
