If you check the vue ecosystem it's always one click away. also it you check tailwind, shadecn websites, etc. it's very common now to have it one click away. Lighting is very contextual and giving that option one click away is beautifull IMO. You don't wanna make it technical.

If you're on MacOS, there's a hidden keyboard shortcut Cmd+Ctrl+T to switch between dark and light mode. It's not documented because we really only use it for testing light+dark mode quickly while developing
If you're on another OS we could tweak it to make it work too
We probably wouldn't add add a dedicated button in the header, but documenting the shortcut with a reference on the profile page could be fine @v
That seems like a great option
Good idea
I wonder how Chakib feels
I also recommend toggling your whole OS dark/light theme and sticking to the System setting in most apps (I want to make our docs follow it too, better to have a single switch in OS then to have to toggle every website you visit)
Yes, it's a great advice !
In buildings you have
- Light switches for rooms (makes you feel in control, it's for the impatient, immediate reward, it's like "oh it's burning my eyes turn it off, or like "oh I see nothing turn the damn light on" !)
- Ambiance switchers (global theme switcher for you living room. This is for Smart Homes, it's for the perfectionist, set everything nicely and forget it)
2 personas, i do both. I need both. My screen is half black half white. Composition and contrast is subjective. I do prefer to read on white (feels like paper), unless my room is too dark. And I do prefer to code in dark mode unless my room is too bright, or coding
Sorry if I am getting too deep ... I just like to talk about the UI. What is there is "good enough", I am not asking for more to be honest, I guess I am just expression my UI design passion 😉
I played a bit with the dashboard (it's great), but I already see many things to tweak and inconsistencies, I don't know if you are aware of them, and if you have a place where I can give feedback about the UI, or see what's in the pipe ?
The best place to request changes or features would be creating a thread in #support-community
