Sketchy Link

As a link for my Prod Deployment Convex gives me this one, but now some of the people who look at their network requests on my site a wondering if this is a sketchy link. Mostly they are wondering what this mastodon means, so if it's related with mastodon. Could you change the URLs?

What also would probably be an interesting solution is to use your own domains and forward/connect them to convex.

This is a good point re mastodon. It's just a random animal in our names list but I just removed it to avoid confusion. If you want to change the name for now your best bet will be to create a new project and migrate your data to it, via export/import, although that is obviously somewhat inconvenient. We definitely want to add support for "vanity domains" where folks can have a custom domain forward to Convex. We haven't started working on it yet but it's on our list for sure.

this vanity domains feature sounds very promising, will keep my eyes open for it

+1 for vanity API domains. I'm trying to implement a feature involving shareable links that make GET requests to my Convex API, so to avoid end users having to copy/paste a "sketchy" link like this, it seems like I have to use a proxy server -- I naively tried just pointing a CNAME record at my API, but of course the SSL cert doesn't match
